Appropriation and transformation of occupations: So what is know-how anyway?

This year's recipient of the Ruth Zemke Lecture in Occupational Science is Ruth Humphry, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA.  Ruth Humphry is a professor in the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She started working as an occupational therapist with people with developmental disabilities in New York state during the 1970s.  Her practice experiences include early intervention and schools.  She earned her PhD in Family Relations and Human Development from Ohio State University.  Her research background includes being on a Brazelton team for 2 years while she was at the Colorado State University.  She and students have engaged in behavioral observations with infants, young children and their families.
